Sometimes I need images for my blog or for a book cover, or just for inspiration. Nowadays, the folks at Bookfunnel do all this for me, which is better for me and better for my readers. This meant I had to spend a lot of time helping readers do this, time I could have spent writing. Then they had to manually “side load” the e-books to their e-readers. Before Bookfunnel I used coupon codes that required readers to register with (retailer), and apply the coupons at checkout. (More to come…)īookfunnel is my preferred way of delivering free books, and ARCs. This is the software I use for my email list, and to get everyone who sign up to it up to speed on my story and my books. I also need to mention Mailerlite, which is how I maintain my newsletter. It’s called Scapple, and I use it basically as a drawing board, because sometimes it’s all about getting your thoughts out of your head and onto paper (or screen). The guys who invented Scrivener also made a neat little program for mind-mapping, which is a handy tool in the early stages of planning a book (and probably for lots of other things). And once your novel is complete the program helps you compile everything and create files for working with an editor, and even finished e-books! (More to come…) The binder lets you work on each scene individually, while still seeing the whole novel, and the cork board view, well, you have to see it to understand how helpful it is. Scrivener is a software developed especially for authors, and it shows! I cannot endorse this software enough as it is by far the best tool I have ever tried when it comes to writing. ![]() Some tools are more important than others, of course, but I’d like to mention a few of them, in no particular order.įirst of all, I use Scrivener for my writing. I’ve been asked many times which tools I use for my writing and publishing. ![]() If you have suggestions or comments, don’t hesitate to shoot me an e-mail at christensenwriting. If you cannot find what you are looking for you may want to check in later.
